The NABU team is thrilled to introduce its new Director of Operations: the dynamic and accomplished Cuthbert Ayodeji Onikute! Ayo brings a wealth of experience, ambition, and passion for social impact, having made significant strides in economic development and community building in West Africa.
Ayo is a purpose-driven leader with a distinguished track record in entrepreneurship, operations, and program management. His commitment to fostering positive social impact and driving transformative change through strategic leadership and innovative solutions makes him a visionary in his field.
Ayo's extensive background includes founding and leading Dechets a l’Or, a tech-enabled social venture in Guinea focused on waste management and public health. Under his leadership, DalO raised over $150K USD and provided services to over 800 customers monthly, demonstrating his ability to achieve results in challenging environments.
Focusing on business relationship management, strategic communications, and community development, Ayo honed his expertise and leadership skills through various roles. His tenure as the Program Manager at Flatbush Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District exemplifies his capacity to enhance community engagement and organizational development.
Prior to his current role, Ayo served as the Guinea Campaign Manager at PCI Media Impact, where he managed the award-winning #ISurvivedEbola campaign. His successful built strategic partnerships and effectively managed the campaigns efforts to reduce stigmatization of Ebola survivors and expanded Media Impact’s activities in West Africa.
In addition to his corporate roles, Ayo is a passionate social entrepreneur and mentor. He has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at driving positive change in underserved communities and has participated in several international business accelerator programs.
